Building a More Collaborative Meeting Space

ACS Brings All Your Network Capabilities into One Space

Gathering all your people in one location can be challenging, why not let Audio Command Systems bring your networking capabilities into the conference room for you. We design, engineer, program, and monitor boardroom automation and commercial AV projects.

Video Conferencing
Bring your team together with state-of-the-art video calls. When the appropriate parties cannot be in the same room together, the next best thing is an effective telepresence platform that creates a collaborative environment, improves working relationships, and increases productivity. You’ll not only have the ability to add participants from multiple remote locations, you’ll also be able to share content, record meetings, and hand-off presenter rights to others.

Our systems are designed to allow everyone to fully participate in meetings from their workstation, home office, and while on the go. Remote attendees can use their mobile device to connect and collaborate face-to-face with colleagues and partners. A mobile solution provides the same high-quality, reliable video experience as one would expect to get had they been in the conference room.

The first step to designing this collaborative element of your boardroom is to ask yourself a few different questions.

  • How do you see your company using video conferencing?
  • What type of content and information will you exchange?
  • How many people will participate in each meeting and where are they located?

Essential components in a video conferencing system include:

  • Cameras and microphones used to properly capture images and sound
  • A codec to convert the video and audio into a digital signal and compresses it before sending it out over the network
  • At the other end, a codec to decompress the signal and feed the picture to a monitor and the sound to a loudspeaker

Beyond these components you may also want to consider adding a content server that allows you to record and stream video meetings, a scheduling tool to help manage recurring meetings, and other accessories like high definition and wide angle cameras, upgraded speakers and microphones, and document cameras that allow you to transmit drawings and other content via video.

Networking

Every boardroom requires a secure, reliable network. It is the nervous system of any connected facility and over the years ACS has designed and engineered hundreds of such system for numerous applications. No longer can you visit a large electronics store, buy the necessary networking equipment, and set it using the default settings. We recommend a hard-wired, business grade network that is made up of reliable commercial grade components from recognized industry leaders such as Ruckus, Dell, and Cisco. This type of network is more secure and has invisible protection built into the way it is designed. In addition, we’ll proactively monitor the system so we know when there’s an issue before you even notice. These alerts keep the equipment performing and in turn help it last longer.

Controlling your presentation and conferencing systems

The AV systems in a typical meeting space today are made up of many separate systems. These systems may include large flat panel displays or projectors and screens, presentation capabilities, audio and videoconferencing systems as well as low voltage lighting and motorized shades.

ACS will design a simple solution that allows you to automate the control of these systems into a single integrated touch screen control. Whether it's a boardroom, auditorium, briefing room or command center, ACS has the experience and expertise to design a solution that fits your needs, timeline, and your budget. With offices in New York, Florida, and California, we work together seamlessly as one firm to serve our clients. Call 1-800-382-2939 to speak to one of our design consultants.
